PHILADELPHIA - Chip Kellys honeymoon period in Philadelphia ended when the Eagles collapsed in December and were eliminated from the playoff race before Week 17.Dont expect Kelly to skip town now that the heats on.I love it, Kelly said Monday when asked how much he liked coaching in the NFL. Youve got to get with a bunch of people that think the way you think and have the same vision that you have. I cant thank our players enough. Ive said it a million times and Ill continue to do it. We have a great bunch of guys here, and I love our coaching staff, and I really enjoy it a lot.Kelly was the talk of the town last year when he arrived from Oregon and led the Eagles to the NFC East title after a 4-12 finish in 2012. He had fans in the palm of his hand this year after the Eagles whipped Dallas on the road on Thanksgiving to improve to 9-3.But three straight losses knocked Philadelphia out of first place and out of the playoffs. That makes 54 years without a championship for the Eagles (10-6).Now, Kelly has come under scrutiny for everything from his playcalling to his personnel decisions. So some have wondered if hell jump ship and head back to college.I dont deal with hypotheticals, he said. When you get two sources that say Im going to a school, write the story.Kelly made it clear hes happy where he is right now — except for missing the playoffs.I think its drastically a different game, Kelly said, comparing the NFL to college football. Its a different setup. Its a different work day. Its a different everything. But the chance to compete and to play at this level is extremely intriguing to me because every single game, no matter who you play, when you play it, where you play it, you have no idea if youre going to win or lose. I think thats a tough deal when you really look at it.But in college, its not that way. There are going to be games no matter what you do, you go into it and youre a 35-point favourite and youre thinking about playing your thirds and fourths and how you develop your depth. But in this league, every single game, no matter who it is, its a battle. If youre a competitor and you love competition, there is no better place in any league.Kelly wouldnt commit to much in his final news conference of the season. He said he wants four-time Pro Bowl running back LeSean McCoy back and hopes wide receiver Jeremy Maclin returns after a career year. He wouldnt say Nick Foles is his starting quarterback and left mostly everything up in the air.Kelly did say hes not planning any changes on his coaching staff, though he wont prevent anyone from taking a job somewhere else. That means defensive co-ordinator Billy Davis is safe despite his units struggles.I thought Billy did a really good job, Kelly said. I thought our defence improved in a lot of categories. There are still things we need to clean up.After the Eagles lost a home game to New Orleans in the first round of the playoffs last year, Kelly gave himself a grade of 58.8 per cent — the teams winning percentage — for his rookie season. As for this year?Youre all measured by one thing: Did you win a Super Bowl or did you not win a Super Bowl? So, we didnt make the playoffs and dont have an opportunity to compete for the Super Bowl, he said.___AP NFL website: www.pro32.ap.org___Follow Rob Maaddi on Twitter: https://twitter.com/AP_RobMaaddiSergei Fedorov Jersey . Josh Jooris and Derek Smith also scored for Abbotsford (34-21-7). Joacim Eriksson made 32 stops for the visiting Comets (26-27-7), while Alex Grenier scored their only goal. Roy had struggled of late, being pulled in three of his last five starts, and allowing 18 goals in that stretch. The Heat opened the scoring on the power play at 12:25, with Jooris redirecting Max Reinharts centring feed on his backhand. Abbotsford dominated the second period, but Eriksson did his best to keep the Comets in the game. Turner Elson drove past a defender while shorthanded midway through the frame, and cut to the front of the net, but Eriksson stayed with him and shut the five-hole in time to keep the Comets within a goal. Eriksson reached across to rob Reinhart on the power play with less than seven minutes to go in the second. The Comets gooaltender robbed Brett Olson at the doorstep on another power play before finally succumbing to the Heat pressure in the final seconds.dddddddddddd. Eriksson kicked out Corey Lockes rebound attempt into the slot, but Connolly stepped into a slap shot that beat the netminders outstretched arm with just 12 seconds to go in the period. Roy was largely untested through two periods but made a few big saves in the final frame. David Marshall redirected Alex Friesens shot, but Roy kicked it away four minutes into the third. Then, on a penalty kill, Roy was solid again, including a big save off Colin Stuart in the slot. The Comets finally got to the 22-year-old netminder at 8:33. Roy stoned Grenier on a backdoor one-timer but the Utica right winger chipped it over the goalie, backing it off a Heat player and in, for his 16th of the year. The Comets had a short power play in the final two minutes but couldnt complete the comeback. Smith added an empty netter with 28 seconds to play. Both teams finished 1 for 7 with the man advantage.
